Spiegel Online reported today that Saddam's appeal was rejected and that the former dictator must be hang within 30 days.  Hundreds of Iraqi's apparently applied to be his executioner. Even though I can see why a lot of people want him dead, many people seem to forget he still has a lot of followers.

Besides for this fact, Iraq is getting from bad to worse lately. Any American sentiments are rising and I fear that his hanging will only make him a martyr in many people's eyes, making some of his fanatic followers even more devoted.. The German general opinion seems to be on my side with headlines ranging from 'Saddam will die a martyr' to 'Government criticizes Saddam's verdict'.

I suppose only time will tell. Meanwhile my opinion stays the same: Get. Out. Of. Iraq. We had no business there in the first place..
